The 940 SE and 940 Turbo use the exact same engines, but the dashboards are completely different. The 940 SE has the same exact interior layout as the pre-94 960's. The 95-98 960/90 used the same dash design as the 940 SE, but the door panels, seats, and interior trim is totally different and much more upscale. The 940 SE is basically a loaded 940 Turbo with the interior of the latest evolution of the 760 series Volvo's and different wheels of course. One more thing, the 940 SE also had an IRS with self-leveling, which the 940 Turbo didn't come with. Or to put it another way, the 940 SE was the exact same car as the 92' 960, except, it had the 940 Turbo engine inside of it instead of an inline-6.

Yeah, actually '91 was the first AND last year of the 940SE. The 960 was intro'ed in Europe in '91, and I think we got the 940SE as a sort-of stand in for that year.

Note - the 945SE did not have the IRS, as they were still using the original multilink design at that time, and it would have interfered with the wagon's flat loading floor.

HP is the same as the 940T, but due to all those goodies Indy mentioned, esp. the IRS and glass roof, 0-60 acceleration was about 1-1.5 sec slower.
