So I was wondering if it is true that 93 octane will give you more horsepower in a T5 along with Octane booster..... My friend said it could give me 30hp but I DOUBT that....?

Re: 93 octane with Octane Booster (S40T5Lover)

I run 94 whenever I can, otherwise 93. Honestly , I don't notice a difference between the 2 , however ...if I were to jump down to 87, I'm sure the BSR would cry and my car wouldn't run that great. Don't think you'd need an octane Booster with 93 , but what do I know, I can't even feel the difference between 93 and 94

I tried a gallon of Xylene to get my octane to about 94.5. The car felt more responsive but hard to tell if I gained any HP.

Re: (V50_T5)

I've been putting about 5-6 gallons of 100 octane unleaded in my R and filling the rest of the way with 93.

Re: (volvosince16)

mixing race fuel and 93 is much much better the octane booster and 93.. even with race fuel on our current mods you won't see much.... Now if have a 400+ HP VTEC 1.8 you will see say 50 HP if the boost is turned up..

Re: (V50_T5)

Thanks V50_T5! My car is all outside appearance. The inside isn't so pretty not like your engine bay. I don't think I should put the slash back. My car is debadged in the back. Right now, I'm debating about MS Design front lip. I would also like the carbon fiber side mirror caps too.
Edit:
Oops, forgot about the rims. I'm surprised they are holding up this well. It's been 2 years and no noticeable bends. I've a few scary pot holes too. I'm surprised because the rims weigh 16lbs each. One rim did get a leak on the inside with no visible damage. Had to go through a lot of emails and calls to get it replaced. Other than that I'm happy.

Re: (Oldman) (volvosince16)

point being a high strung small engine with lots of boost and the ability to increase boost can make use of a mix of race fuel and 93 octane. A max mod S40 with octane booster and 93 IMO you will see next to nothing.

I've got quite a bit of boost I started using it in the heat to hoping to help prevent timing pull

Re: 93 octane with Octane Booster (S40T5Lover)

Running 91 doesn't seem to be a problem for me... I would never run anything less, but paying upwards of 4.90 a gallon then driving to the nearest auto parts store to pay another 3 or 4 for the octane booster just doesn't seem worth it to burn it away going 6 MPH on the 405

Re: (shadowlord)

in general E85 has less energy so I would expect HP to be less... now if you inject water / alcy from a snow injection system....
