Duncan,

If this is a vinyl stick on style of pinstripe, it isn't that tough. You'll want to use something to heat up the striping and it should peel right off. A hairdryer would probably work, or a heat gun if you have one. This softens it. If you wait until summer, it's also easier due to temp.

I used 3M adhesive remover to take the pinstripes off of my 240. It worked quite well to soften the vinyl, and then I just peeled it off using my fingernails. Then of course I used it again to take off the adhesive left behind. Be careful if you have clear coated paint, because some adhesive removers may not be safe to use. The entire job took me several hours over about a one week period, but I had two stripes on each side and they were 13+ years old.

Good luck.

Duncan~ what George said about waiting until warmer weather is great advice. I take vinyl off my racecar from time to time and it is so much easier when the metal is not cold. I do use a heat gun and credit card to scrape/lift the stuff before pulling.
