Hi, first of all, I just want to say hi to everyone, I am a new comer. Anyway, I don't see a specific engine tuning section on this forum, but this is 850 related, so I will post here. Well, does any of you know if there is an ECU upgrade avaliable for NA 850 engine? I had searched the internet, nothing comes up except for Eastern Aerospace. Anyone heard of this company? How is it? Thanks.

You know I just reread your subject heading, and I first thought you meant Nort American, though on rereading it you obviously mean normally aspirated.

I don't think IPD has a chip for that. Plus, you're not going to get all that much gain out of a N/A car.

I agree, I did also look into PES, located in PA, for 450 dollars, only 15 hp!? Not worth it, so I am just going to put the Supersprint exhaust and K&N filter in, and that's it. I just ordered some new OZ rims, Bilstein shocks, H&R springs, should be done by Wednesday. I think it will look good, & will take some pics and share them.

. Ive also got a guy that wants to sell his volans. I want to get them, but I don't think i will be able to get the money as quickly as he wants... so please post pics! I can't wait to see what it really looks like it.

Me neither, good thing is that the car is not under warranty anymore, 92k miles, so I can have the dealership to install my suspension and wheels. They put on my Supersprint on Friday, and it sure is quiet as stock. Compare that with my fire breathing Ford Focus, it is a lot nicer. If you want to check out my Focus, please go to focaljet.com, use the search function & select Team Rigs and put in "ZX3_NJBoosted", you should see my posted topics, let me know what you think. By the way, is there a specific section in Swedspeed dedicated for posting pics?

Fire breathing, eh? Does that Focus finally have a real turbo now, or...still using the Volt meter to simulate boost gauge?

Yes, chip for NA is never going to worth your money. You should of seriously chosen the turbo version...or bought Mike's car.

Dim ah, Shun Kai? How have you been? The Focus finally has a real turbo, been on the car for almost a year, still doing well, alive and kicking. I know, Mike recommended the Bil/HR setup, and you have it, so I think I will just follow your foot steps. As far as the 850 version wise, when I bought the car, which was last year's Summer, they had a V70 T5 98, going for 17995, but didn't have that much money, so I picked this one, it's going to be my navigation mobile, should have every Alpine components this Friday. Mike didn't say anything about MD next week? What is it? A little reunion? If I am not too busy, maybe I will come down.

I see, so what size of turbo you have on the focus? It's setup more for Auto X, right?

Yeah, I found this springs/shocks setup to be the most suitable for both street and for little actions.


Well, I'm still not sure if Mike still will be coming down with my cousin next week. My cousin is coming to take his car back, and a little GTG with old friends will be nice, too.

The turbo on the Focus is not a brand name one, so no Garette or HKS or Greddy, it's from a company called Aerocharger, you can go see it @ www.aerocharger.com It's a setup to improve drivability, so yes, that includes ups the performance on track.

Called Mike this afternoon, he said the plan stays, and he is thinking about coming down Friday night, I don't have a problem with that, just have to see if I got worned out from work that day, will let you know. Keep in touch lah.

Still, I am interested about the spec about the turbo. Even all these name brands by those aftermarket companies are nothing but OEM version from the major turbo manufacturers.

Well, let's see. I hope by the time you guys come down, I'll have the car dyno and tuned.

Hmmm.... I can't give you much spec on the turbo, all I remember it's a 55000 series, it's a self-lubricated ball bearing turbo, pumps out 10 psi boost at 2800 rpm, at such level, the car sees 190hps at the wheels with 220 ft/lb of torque. It's a torquey turbo I would say.
You know what, if the shop that is going to tune your car is open on Saturday, we can all go together, just curious to see what kind of HP you put on the wheels.

you know your at a good forum when you can talk about two different brands of cars (even from different markets) and people are not cussing eachother out and talking poo to eachother and then they usually go as low as the size of the family jewls...

As for the Volvo, I'm curious to see what alpine stuff you get for it. My uncle just got the new dvd unit put in his Yukon XL. I have not messed with the CD verson, but i was sorta unimpressed with the coverage of the DvD unit... It didn't have Asheville hardly at all. They also don't let you play dvds in it
I also hope you like your dealer. I havn't really heard a good story about a dealership in well... forever... The install isn't really that hard if you'v got a spring compressor. I put some bilsteins on a few weeks ago. I'm curious to see how the exhaust sounds... I havn't heard anyone's response... the iPd DEFINATELY would be stock compaired to your focus. Still sounds gooood thought
