It'll probably be a few (6 or so) months before I actually go ahead and buy one, but I want an 854/855 (I really can't decide which one at the moment ). I was really just wondering of the years 95-97, which year would be the best to buy. I am looking for a turbo or R either way. Also, are there any specific things to watch out for when going out to look at them? I'll probably buy from an individual, as the dealer around here charges a pretty penny for the 850's that they do get in (I've only seen 3 in the past 6 months, all were in excess of $11,000 for high mileage, non turbo). Anyhow, I just found this site the other day and I just think it is great that I now have a place to talk about my favorite car company (heh, I grew up on Volvos since my dad used to sell them) Awesome site you have here guys!

Re: 850 model years (volvo4life)

Hey, I'm in Kansas City. You may be interested to know that there is a dealer in KC that has a very nice white 95 850 turbo wagon with ipd exhaust and 850R front bumper for a decent price. I believe the car has 71k on it. I was interested in it until my dad gave me an offer I couldn't refuse on his 850 wagon.
Here's the dealer's website. http://www.autobahn-usa.com
I bought my Saab from them about 3 years ago. I highly recommend them.
Good luck!
sharif

ohhh *drool* R front bumper although that sounds really really nice, I probably don't have enough money to get that one just yet... I'm only 17, and I have a 1998 Dodge Intrepid right now that I could probably get $6500-7500 out of, adding that to the few thousand I have in the bank. There's actually a nice 1995 854T for sale not too far from here for $7500 with every available option... 90,000 miles though Anyone know of any inherent problems with that year?
