740 Chin Spoiler on 240?

1244 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  celi85

So, here's what I'm wondering. The 740 chin spoiler had openings for the mounting of foglights. Having a 1990 240, my chin spoiler is pretty close to the same design as this one. So I'm wondering if this would fit the car, along with a cool set of foglights? I'm guessing it might be a bit wider, but that might be not as hard to remedy if I cut it, cut some out, blended it and painted it matte black.

Does anyone know of anybody who's tried this already?

Yes, it should work fine. I've seen one 240 with a 740 series front spoiler, but it had the old style bumper, so I'm not exactly sure how it will mount on the sides. I'm working on something similar with getting my GT front spoiler to fit on my bumper. Here's a pic of the 740 spoiler on a 1980 244 GL:

that looks clean.

i just cut holes in my stock spoiler and mounted the fogs on the inside.
No rally look for you George?

I was thinking about that mod too before I picked up the Hellas.

Fog lights should be mounted low. Driving lights on top of the bumper are fine, but fogs should go below.

If you're going to go rally style, go all out!
