You Sir, get a standing ovation. Thanks so much for posting this. After searching and searching for the right solution, you have posted it as clear as day for me. I still cannot figure out why my washers only spray the bottom of the windscreen...after replacing almost the entire washer system, it's still weak...but strong enough to push these babies all day. I just can't figure out how to get that darned pump out of the reservior...the one inside it... anywho...awesome, I just ordered my new nozzles. Helluv an upgrade going into winter...I really hated timing the little streams.

Steve,
Great post! I wonder if this can be done on the 900 series? I will have to check those nozzles.
-Drew

Re: 70 series washer nozzle (xtremepsionic)

Actually it's really simple...just remove three of the twist and pull retainers on the heat shield, where the nozzles are...then use a pair of needle nose pliers to pinch and push the nozzles out...takes less than five minutes.
Oh, don't forget to remove the hoses off the nozzles, they twist and pull right off...but you probably already guessed that.

i didn't need to remove the heatshield. there's two little holes where the nozzles fit in the hood and there's about a 1-1/2" cutout in the padding underneath the hood. just pull off the hose and either squeeze the Y with ur fingers or some pliers. the green arrow points to one side of the Y where u squeeze. the thing just pops right out after u squeeze the Y past back up the hood....

My bad, I was thinking that I had to do that for just the nozzles...I actually was doing the nozzles and the check valve.
Sorry for the mistake

Re: 70 series washer nozzle

That looks like a very good upgrade, and that's some great documentation. I might try this on my 240 because the sprayer (if you could call it that) is a single stream on each side, or about half the 850 nozzles.
I just checked at gapa.com, and they have two different nozzles for $4.13 and $6.52. Here's a picture.

hmm...i donno...got this at the dealer...and the two part numbers from gapa are not volvo #s...P7070-88847, P7070-59223 (the old 850 nozzle number is P7070-59223)

Re: 70 series washer nozzle (steve s)

Just wanted to thank you for the lead...I needed to get these suckers on there like nobody's business...found a fantastic dealer who sent them off in a jiffy. The guys at Richardson Volvo, in Richardson Texas. Helluva nice guy, that part number was correct...got home from a road trip today, and they were waiting for me..didn't bother to change out of the suit, I just jumped under the hood and put them in, in about 5 minutes.
Also, if you guys are looking for a set of OEM Volvo side window deflectors...as I was, they are saweeeet. Very low profile, barely tinted, and OEM. They look awesome. However, some don't want these things on their windows, I have just had them forever and prefer them.
Thanks again for the tip, they work marvelously.

Re: 70 series washer nozzle (Ski Brick)

I just a bought a new bumper vent from Richardson Volvo a month or so ago. It was speedy and the cost was reasonable. I just looked at the exploded view drawings on their website and picked the part I wanted. As easy as that.
I would recommend them for online orders, they're alright.

Re: 70 series washer nozzle (Spearzy)

Wow, came into this post late. Nice one. I may try it on my 240 as well. I don't know if you are interested, but I'd love to do a Tech article on this subject for our Features section. If you give me permission to use your pics and want to do a write up on what you did, I'd be happy to add it to the site with a link to you or your website in it.

Re: 70 series washer nozzle ([email protected])

Came in to the post late also can you give me the volvo part number for the one that sprays like a fan motion not in a stream. Mine is a stream on two sides like a V V on the dash..
