found this on craigslist: <A HREF="http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/1143262743.html" TARGET="_blank">http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eb....html</A><p>i know absolutely nothing about the P1800 but thought it would be a waste if he sent it to the junkyard. <p>does anyone recommend buying it? is 1964 a "good year" or should i look for a different model. also, how much money would it take to fix the rust and oil leak? <p>all in all, is this a good investment or a money drainer? thanks!

Depends entirely on how much rust, and where the rust is. I can't really see that from the pics. Fixing oil leaks is about a full day of labor, rust can be months of labor in severe cases.<p>A non-rusty, good-running '64 with cosmetic flaws (dull paint, worn interior, for instance) should sell for around $6000, so you'd have some margin to work with buying it for under $1000.
