Our XC90 has served us well; as trouble-free and versatile as any car we have ever owned. We are about to sell it tomorrow and replace it with a 2009 3.2 AWD with a nice array of installed trinkets.
Have had to replace only one pair of brake pads and still on original rotors. Still have several thousand miles left on the tires, which are the 2nd replacement set. It may be that those who squawk about short tire, pad, or rotor life are just driving too aggressively...
Just posting this as a comment to any or all who think XC90s are not the car to buy.
