Restored, that is, if I learn enough about it. On the firewall is a plate that seems to state a chassis no of "336397 B 6 2", a number 46 on the next line (color code no.?) and on the bottom line No. 37-194 after a word ending "...olst"--maybe an upholstery code? The top line of this plate is "544-11244 C"

On the firewall frame stiffening member is screwed a plate, painted to match the car, with a vertically divided diamond box having "O" on the left and "B" on the right. This plate is stamped "No 336407"

Would appreciate any clarification anyone could give. I have tried to find literature about such matters but no luck so far.

Thanks very much!

Yes, I did--sight unseen, on the basis of what turned out to be incomplete advice from others who had seen it. The front view is somewhat deranged, but when I go under it and measure to my more-or-less level garage from various frame and suspension points I find nothing unusual. The fenders and nose have been removed and very badly replaced and the radiator blind and hood balance spring are lost, but otherwise it looks restorable. It had good mechanical care and next step is to get it running and learn if its general condition justifies significant further time and $.

George, If it originally had hood balance springs it is a 62 or later 544 which will be 12 volts and whatever engine was swapped into it or if original it will be the B18 . I would love to hear more about this car.
