Sorry for the stupic Q. I've seen both. My owners manual says 6.1 but I just read in the tranny fluid thread that 6.1 is for turbo NON-R. Which is it?<br>Thanks

5.5 and check the stick after that.<br>R is using an oil sensor so it has a bit less space in the crank pan.

Just put in 6 quarts. <p>Even if it's overfilled by a half quart, which it probably won't be , it will be okay. <p>The trans take 8 quarts and the drain dumps out about 3.5 quarts from what I have found. TC hold the other 3309 fluid.

R engine oil cap is 5.5 l (5.8 qts) per Volvo ... I put in 5 on a change, then run it, then top off...<br>
