Is that even reasonable? Service adviser said he would give me 10% off....what a joke.

I took it in for a bunch of TNN's and warranty covered items...

Is this reasonable for service? or should i call him tomorrow and say I want my car back?!?

Make sure they are pricing the 30K service (a) for a 2004 model and (b) per the Volvo recommendations, not their own in-house recommendations. Volvo changed the service intervals for later models after the free maintenance program went away (how convenient).

The previous poster is correct... just an oil change and a cabin air filter.

And to reiterate (once again)........NEVER blindly ask for a xxx mile service as each dealer has his own "menu" of what should be done.

Hey, you stole my line!

And I think the 30k maintenance had a time limit as well.

To reiterate:

1. Print this:

https://www.customers.volvocar....html

2. Highlight solely the 30K service column

3. Bring your own oil!

4. Hand the highlighted sheet to the service advisor before you give them the keys and ask for an estimate

5. Remind them to use your oil!

6. Don't let them sell you on other BS stuff you don't need http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Walk out the door knowing you just saved yourself a few hundred $$$ which you can now use to mod your car

My first two new cars had the 3/36 warranty blown in 11 months, and 10 months, respectively. LOL.

It does, but most dealers were authorized to do it after 3 years
Now two to three years+ over the 4 year warranty schedule is a bit far out but press them, YOU paid for this when you bought the car
