just over a month ago i posted asking for best routes from tn to nh. made the trip up and back in a week. some thoughts that i've been delinquent in posting.
seats - earlier i commented that they seem a little firm/tough to be comfortable. i take it back. perhaps after being at the office all day where my chair allows my a$$ to spread to its limits they feel a little confining, but after 10 hours behind the wheel, they're like wearing your own skin.
averaging 80 mph and 30mpg at the same time - priceless.
doing so while carrying one pak-n-play, 1 portable highchair, 1 stroller, 1 backpack carrier, and 8 days worth of clothes for 2.7 people - priceless+1.
sudden downpour on highway under construction? can you say awd & dtsc? like i said, averaging 80 mph.
sidehop: YIKES
Clear, no-humidity, sub-70 degree Sunday mornings, begun at a good coffee shop at 7 a.m., are eRotic.
Shouldn't you get lower insurance rates if you're smart enough to listen to Creedence Clear Water Revival's love version of "Heard it Through the Grapevine" while driving?
The MD parkways in and around D.C. are smooth, fun driving.
The freeways in eastern, central PA and metro-NYC Jersey are not.
To anyone owning an R - or any other car costing more than $7K - in NYC: how do you do it and why?!
Admittedly not R-related, but you feel cool following/cat&mousing with a z6 'vette. it's kind of like hanging around with the high school quarterback.
To the owner of the black R towing it behind a penske truck along I-81 in VA on 7/27: hope you made your destination safely and got back into the preferable driver's seat.
To the owner of the red '04 s60R on I-84 just west of Hartford on 7/28: Thanks for the company, but you missed the best part of that drive.
To the R owner vacationing on the Cape - have you checked the board yet?
I get to make the trip all over again in a couple of weeks. Forget driving it like you stole it - drive it like you own it . . . and the road.
