For all those that were thinking about upgrading to the 302mm rotors, I just checked out prices from the Volvo dealer and it seems like it's cheapr to get it from IPD. Here's the breakdown:
P/N 272276 (302mm rotor) = $116.00
P/N 8602456 (caliper bracket) = 99.76
Now, prices can always be different but overall, the Volvo prices are more expensive that IPDs. Just a thought.
Oh, btw I just went to the Jaguar dealer as well (it's the same showroom) and they have the exact bolt patter and hub size as our car. Kai - 14.4" big brake upgrade from the S-type R or the XKR! Bling bling!!!

Re: 302mm rotor upgrade (Faraaz23)

I'm not sure if they would with over the stock Canistos. 14.4" is pretty damn big. I think Kai is running 13" on his setup with 18" rims. Also, I'm not sure if it would fit our offset as well.
Yup, Porsche brakes is what I'm after. The Porsche rotors however use a different bolt pattern so a rotor hat needs to be made for our bolt pattern. Since the Jaguar one is the same, it's a direct swap. The caliper mounting bracket should hopefully be the same as well. The rotor hats and the calier mounting brackets are the ones that cost the most. Everything else should be OEM.

Yep, Jag S-type has the same bolt pattern. And the X-type. So does the Ford Taurus 86 and up, Mercury Cougar 89 and up, Sable 86 and up, Lincoln LS 2000 and up, and Continental 00 and up.

Re: 302mm rotor upgrade (c70pusher)

That's an interesting fact. How is the offset? Can you see S-Type R Jag wheels on a Volvo???

Seriously though, that's kind of cool. VWs upgrade to Porsche brakes ( 1552 design does it ) , and Volvos upgrade to Jag brakes. Nice...

Yeah, I'll call around and ask if any of these big players in brake system can offer to shed some light on this topic. If it's easy as what we are thinking here.....you will see me in 380(maybe not) or 350 mm brake system in the spring.

Re: 302mm rotor upgrade (The_one_n_only)

Umm, not sure about the offset G. I think I heard its 35mm and if I remember, ours is 40mm. But it should still fit. I don't know if the S-type rims would look good on the C, tho. But big brakes, sure...

40mm on the 850 old 70 Series
48mm on the new P2 cars
20mm on the old RWD cars
If your info and my info are correct, I doubt then that the Jag wheels would fit the P2 cars.

Hi Chris:
I think it varies from car to car. The best way to check is to
pop of the wheel and measure the rotor. I unfortunately do
not have the 302 mm brakes. By the way, I checked out your site,
nice work. Re: 302mm rotor upgrade (volvos70turbo)

That's cool. I need to get back into using Flash. been an busy project manager for the past few years and haven't had as much time to be creative as i would like.
If one has the 302s and gets serviced at a dealer and they put smaller ones on because they don't know any better, what kind of recourse would someone have? I guess it is just good to know going in so a shady shop doesn't try to stick you.

Re: 302mm rotor upgrade (83caddy16v)

Hey Chris:
I think the 2000 V70R's had the 302's standard.
I am upgrading mine to the 302's because I want to stick with the 16 wheels. I am going to be doing the brakes this weekend. I got the brackets from IPD and I have TarOx rotors and pads. I'll post pics on Monday.

Re: 302mm rotor upgrade (C70SPEED)

If you are talking about the Volvo 320mm. Then yes they should fit a 17" wheel. You still only have a 1 piston caliper and it is expensive as poop. Might as well go for a Brembo or AP Racing big brake kit in that case.

Re: 302mm rotor upgrade (larryo108)

Do you happen to have an updated part number on that kit? I got a part number from the other forum and it doesn't exist in the Volvo databanks. I gave them the caliper brackets and rotors information as well, nada.
