HELLO AND THANKS FOR YOUR TIME. I HAVE A 1990 245 WITH LH 2.4 SYSTEM. THIS THING WILL INTERMITTANTLY SET CODE 1-2-3 & 2-2-4 & 2-3-2. I KNOW THE LAST CODE WILL SET WITH THE FIRST TWO AND AM NOT TOO CONCERNED WITH 2-3-2 AT THIS TIME. THE FIRST TWO CODES CAN SET INDEPENDENTLY OF EACH OTHER OR TOGETHER AT TIMES. AT THIS TIME, ONLY 1-2-3 IS PRESENT. <p>I HAVE BEEN FIGHTING THIS PROBLEM FOR SOME TIME AND HAVE DONE JUST ABOUT EVERYTHINK I CAN THINK OF.<p>THE FAILURE IS NEVER PRESENT WHEN I FAULT TRACE. ECT IS ALWAYS CORRECT, GROUNDS ARE ALWAYS O.K., REFERENCE VOLTAGE ALWAYS GOOD. I HAVE REPLACE THE SENSOR TWICE, REMOVED THE HARNESS AND INSPECTED ENTIRE CIRCUIT WITHOUT FAULTS FOUND, REPLACE SENSOR CONNECTOR, REPLACE FUEL BOX, REPLACE THERMOSTATE.<p>THE LAST TIME I WORKED ON THIS, I THOUGHT I FOUND A POOR CONNECTION AT THE IGNITION BOX. THE CONNECTOR HERE DOES NOT FIT TIGHTLY AND THERE IS NO RUBBER SEAL...IS THERE SUPPOSED TO BE ONE? I TIE STRAPPED THE CONNECTOR TO THE BOX TO ASSURE A TIGHT FIT. MY LAST SHOT IN THE DARK WILL BE TO REPLACE THE IGNITION BOX, BUT I DOUBT THIS IS THE PROBLEM. <p>VEHICLE HAS NO OTHER PROBLEMS AND RUNS GREAT WITH 190K ON THE ODOMETER. WITH CODES SET AND CEL ON, ENGINE IS EASY TO START HOT OR COLD.<p>WHAT HAVE I MISSED AND HAS ANYONE LOST THERE HAIR OVER SIMILIAR PROBLEM?<p>ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.<p>THANKS,<br>KURT <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vortexmediagroup.com/images/banghead.gif" BORDER="0">

I DON'T BELIEVE THERE WERE ANY SYMPTOMS PRESENT...VEHICLE OWNERS ONLY COMPLAINT WAS THE CEL BEING ON. I HAVE GONE INTO PAST HISTORY AND FOUND THAT CODE 1-2-1 WAS SET ONCE ALONG WITH 1-2-3. THAT CODE HAS NEVER RESURFACED AND I BELIEVE A MAF MAY HAVE BEEN REPLACED, BUT NOT SURE...WILL NEED TO DIG DEEPER INTO HISTORY.<p>OXYGEN SENSOR SWITCHING NOT SURE ABOUT CONVERTER EFFICIENCY...I MAY NEED TO LOOK INTO THAT BUT NOT SURE IF THAT WOULD WORK INTO THE EQUASION SINCE SYSTEM IS PRE OBDII.<p>LET ME KNOW YOUR THOUGTS.<p>KURT <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vortexmediagroup.com/images/banghead.gif" BORDER="0">
