I can't read the size on the tire in the picture, but if it is 245/45/17 on an 850R, it WILL rub on turns with the stock suspension. I know 205/55/16 will rub, and those 245s would be about 0.8" taller, not to mention a lot wider. Maybe this guy only drives in straight lines?

245/35/17 or 245/40/17 might fit with some small spacers and a stiff spring/damper setup. The fenders may also need to be trimmed/rolled/pulled depending on the suspension and wheel offset.

LOL

One thing that could be, is that measurements vary. Some tire makers take the width measurement and entire width of tread, that includes a little that rolls over on to the side.

The issue here is the extreme width of a 245 tire. An 850 should be able to fit 18" tires, but it's a combination of height and width that determine whether or not a tire rubs (assuming the offset is constant). A 215/40/18 is just barely shorter than a 205/55/16 (which will rub), so an 18" tire may not rub or if it does, it would be minor.
