Folks my neighbor is cleaning up his garage and we found 4 almost new 245 40 18 from his Audi. I am thinking of buying them real cheap and install them on my 18" Pegs. Does anyone know if I will screw with the car rides and geometry to the point of NOOO DON'T DO IT? My car has spacers and not lowered, so I am sure it will not rub the fender.

Yea it's fine but the sidewall will stick out farther. Makes the wheels look smaller and fatter than what they are but then again you get the added looks from the rear. And a little more protection from bending them in a pothole

I have rsf5s which are the same exact size as pegs. Width and diameter and I run 245 45 18. You will be fine may have to roll fenders just a little of you are lowered.

Wait you use 245 45 18 and it is ok? No rubbing? Do you know if the speedo still accurate? I actually want to go 245 45 18 to fill my fender.

Speedo is off. About 5mph. My escort passport max displays speed so no biggie. Had to trim fender liners and roll fenders to get then not to rub.

I've run mostly 245/40-18s over the years. I don't recommend bumping up to the 45 profile though, you will get a lot more rub and it will throw your speedo off too.

I am only going to put on the wife R. If is off by 5mph, I am willing to trade that than getting another set of wheel. She already gone thru 2 wheels in 2 years. We are talking about Florida mostly smooth road here.

If you want to see what beefier tires looks like, check the 'Spacers and Mudflaps' link in my sig. I've also got a side by side pic with a car with stock sized wheels and no spacers so you can really see the difference in how it looks.

If you want tires to save wheels get Goodyear eagle f1s. They have a built in rim protector.

245/40/18 supersports

Rubs if you go over big bumps on the highway not in advanced and on super sharp turns.
