I'm not sure if there were differences or not, but I have a friend whose dad is trying to get rid of a 242 (flat nose) that had been imported from Sweden by a guy in the US military many years ago. I'm unclear on detail, but can call him if anyone is interested. It runs, and has passed NH state inspection. It is at the guy's house in New Hampshire and I am told has no rust. I am told he is asking $1500. I can get more info if anyone needs it. Email me at [email protected] .

Do you know what year the car is, or if it's a Turbo or not? It's probably not much different from the US version, unless it is a Turbo. The European 240 Turbo always had the flat hood ('80-'85, I think), but the US only got it for '83 in a very limited edition. The flat hood was used on regular 240 models in the US from '75-'80, but not all '75-'80 models had a flat hood.

Right, there's probably nothing special about this car - is it even a turbo? Might just be NA.
I almost had my 240 converted to a flat nose. I had a euro grille lined up, went to the pick & pull, and discovered that they had crushed the only straight flat hood in the yard! Bummer. So I got power mirrors instead...
