215/45/17 or 215/40/17 on R rims?

I think 205 is insanely narrow for the R. WHat would be the recommended size? 215/40 or 215/45. I don't want to bend my rim so im leaning towards 215/45, but ive heard of possible rubbing. Please help.

215's are fine depending on the tire. I have Potenza tires and they don't rub at all. Due to the different aspect ratio you will have a slight error on your speedometer and and some say decreased performance, but I don't notice any difference. The benefits are being able to use all-season tires and a better ride because of sidewall height which is important in the D.C. area...
