2023 Polestar V60/S60 Ordering

We put a deposit down with our local dealer (Portland, Oregon) to build a 2023 V60 Polestar Engineered T8 about 2 months ago. The dealer has been great but the "build" hasnt been accepted by Volvo and it doesn't sound like there is much information on IF it will be accepted. I've also heard some folks that have confirmed 22 builds got pushed to 23 MY and are still awaiting details.

We want to buy this new and get the federal $7500k rebate and we want the longer range that the 22 Extended and 23's have. I'm hoping someone has some news on the 23 polestars but my dealer is starting to think we might not get this car made.

I just wanted to share the details of my V60 Polestar order. I initially ordered in July of this year, and the order was entered but not allocated/accepted by Volvo. My order was finally accepted on December 23rd and is scheduled for production in early April. It has an early March order lock date; it's a '23 model. Now I just have to decide between White, Thunder and Silver Dawn. Any input appreciated!
I mean, color is highly personal. My opinion: although white looks good on a lot of Volvos, white and silver are very common and not very interesting. Thunder Grey is kind of unique. A bit more on the blue side of gray, but it's highly dependent on the lighting conditions. It can vary between almost a flat dark grey in low light, to a more apparent blue in full light.

As for my V60 situation... hoping to be able to pick it up from the dealer in a month or less!

Thunder Grey is very blue is certain light. You have to like it. Very nice that you can choose at time of acceptance.

Saw Thunder in person and didnt like it at all. That greyish blue doesnt really match the gold accent on the brakes and seatbelts for me. My first choice is Snow and I won't mind Silver.
the dealer I have my order through told me they have an allocation that hasn't been reserved yet. I also did some googling and Volvo in Ramsey NJ looks like they have a v60 polestar on the lot according to the website but I haven't called them about it - if you want to travel or ship
I spoke to that dealer last week. It’s been on the floor for two months. I’m going to pass by tomorrow evening and I’ll check it out. Test drive it if I can. I’m into my current vehicle until end of 2023, so I’m not buying now. But a test drive would be nice, to see if I really want a V60 PE.

I remember someone posted here that he went to look at it and the dealer was asking for something like a 10k market adjustment on it.
That sounds about right. The one here in the Bay Area that I test drove sat for almost a month I think, they were also looking for about 10K over. Totally ridiculous... that being said, it did sell.
Yikes! No wonder it's been sitting on the lot for 2 months. People want it but they also know when the dealer is trying to profiteer off of it.

I schedule the test drive, so I’ll find out. The salesman understands that I’m not looking to buy for another year.
Any ideas on when would be a good time to put in an order for a 2024 V60 PE (in the US). Rumor is that they are upgrading the charging speed which would be nice.

I will not be able to test drive the one in Ramsey after all. Just got a call to let me know someone put a deposit on it last night. The dealership has locked it up.
My first time stepping into one at the Ramsey dealer. Very nice. Would suit me fine.

It didn’t sell for $10,000 above asking. Dealer was asking $5000 over and made a deal for $2500 over, with someone in California.

Feeling sad I didn’t get to test drive. Missed the opportunity by just one day. C’est la vie.

Yeah I’m going to be in the same boat, V60 T5 lease ends April 2024 and want to try to time as close as I can! Usually Volvo has six month pull ahead and you can extend your lease if you have another Volvo on order so there should be some flesibility

But the 2024 A4/S4 is coming in wagon (non-Allroad) to the States again so that might be tempting and more affordable. And supposedly PHEV, too. And the 5-Series wagon coming back to the States next year, too! Both tempting.

Anyways, hope they add a cool blue shade for 2024. If not, Thunder Grey it is.
If you planned on leasing a V60 again, there is some good policy news out of the US Treasury this week that includes EU manufactured Volvo cars that previously qualified for the $7,500 EV credit. The same more restrictive 2023 direct purchase policies apply, but beginning 1/1/23, leasing companies (such as Volvo Financial Services) will be able to pass the previous EV credits along to consumers. With leases, the purchase price cap is waived as well.

That is interesting.

Oh my, where have you heard that? I’ve owned several A4/S4 Avant variants and would love to see them here again (as well as an RS4 Avant). Everything I’ve seen so far on the new B10 Avant says no-go for the U.S.

A few reliable sources have pegged it online (like Jonny Lieberman) and dealers are aware. It’s a very poorly kept secret.

There is no 2024 Audi A4 sedan, BTW. Wagon only. A5 Sportback becomes the “sedan”. RS4 Avant coming, too. Some online publications have picked up on that but most haven’t, even though every single spy shot of the B10 has been an Avant (which makes sense, since the sedan does not exist). Curious what that means for China where the A4 is locally produced. Sedans still sell well in China and wagons and hatchbacks don’t sell at all. Audi even makes a version of the A7 for China that isn’t a hatchback.

Obviously nothing for official until it’s official, but should be unveiled in the next couple of weeks.

And on the BMW side, on top of the 5 wagon coming back, the 3 wagon is scheduled to be built in San Luis Potosí starting in 2026, which supplies the States/Canada, so good sign. The current one doesn’t meet U.S. regulations due to battery placement in the passenger compartment, which ultimately killed the M3 Touring from coming over even though North American dealers have been begging for it.

Got word my V60 is at the dealer! Sadly I can't go get it for a few weeks due to work. I did see a picture though, it's real!

Do you have more info on this? I had resigned myself to losing out on the credit due to the V60s being made in Sweden.
