We put a deposit down with our local dealer (Portland, Oregon) to build a 2023 V60 Polestar Engineered T8 about 2 months ago. The dealer has been great but the "build" hasnt been accepted by Volvo and it doesn't sound like there is much information on IF it will be accepted. I've also heard some folks that have confirmed 22 builds got pushed to 23 MY and are still awaiting details.
We want to buy this new and get the federal $7500k rebate and we want the longer range that the 22 Extended and 23's have. I'm hoping someone has some news on the 23 polestars but my dealer is starting to think we might not get this car made.
These are the news articles that I saw. This just came out on Thursday so I’d guess that the manufacturers are still working on interpretation and how they would potentially build lease programs around it. Maybe a cap cost reduction? That would certainly make these vehicles more competitive in the market.
For anyone still following here... I just want to say, if you're waiting for this car, it's worth the wait.
I just picked up mine in FL and drove it back to CA. 3000+ miles already through heat & humidity, rain, a blizzard, high and low elevation. It just crushes anything you throw at it, full charge or empty.

The Polestar DOES qualify for now, and Volvo Financial is passing on the $7,500 as a lease incentive. However, they've jacked up the money factor to the worst I've seen in a long time. It's .00409 or 9.816% for 12k miles/year and 3 yrs
Yeah, I wasn't thrilled about that, but it worked out. I was very cautious, didn't push it at all, took it very slow, used the AWD mode a lot, and turned off the lane keeping aid. Didn't have any traction issues and luckily the other drivers I encountered were sensible and driving well too. Snow accumulation was maybe about an inch, but I was able to go thru all the previous tire tracks which helped. I tried to adjust my route to avoid the worst of the storm, but my timing was off.
Now that I'm back in CA, I'm gonna probably hang onto the tires thru the summer and then switch them in fall for some proper all-weathers.
I’m picking up your car’s exact Thunder Grey twin this weekend here in the LA area. It will be replacing my ‘18 V90 R Design with the rear air suspension. It’s been a fantastic car but the T6 is thirsty around town. I had a ‘16 V60 Polestar before this car, so I‘m interested where you have the Ohlins set to. The V90 is actually quite sporty but I know the V60 will be stiffer. I wish the new car was also Bursting Blue but what can we do….Volvo loves their 24 different grey options!
I haven't touched the Ohlins at all, but I believe they come from the factory defaulted in the middle, for comfort. I've heard they can get quite stiff turned up all the way. I've been happy with the ride so far. Definitley more refined than my 2000 XC! I have had to learn to avoid big potholes and stuff, but the car is very nicely planted with them at the default settings. I may play with it eventually!

By long-standing IRS definition, a leased vehicle is a commercial vehicle. Thus as a business owner of a commercial vehicle, the leasing company is eligible for the full credit. While the leasing company has no legal obligation to pass along the $7,500 tax credit to you, most do. The IRS further clarified this in a memo released in December. If you want to lease a $750,000 Ferrari SF90 made in Italy, it qualifies.

Thank you for that info. It seems there is still a lot of confusion about this "loophole" but so far MB and Audi have been open about passing that money on as a lease incentive. I just posted this above as well, but I'm also now hearing that Volvo is doing the same (at least for the V60), but charging dearly for the service with a lease money factor up up north of 9% APR.

I've leased for years now and it fits my car ownership needs and my desire to enjoy something new and different every few years. I have 1 year left on my S60 lease, and I'm totally bummed out that leasing is likely not going to be an option any more....it's just not making any financial sense.

I leased a V60 Inscription in May 2021 and the MF is something like .00028.
that’s insane how Crazy it is now. I’m looking to get a V60PE at year end/early next year with my leasing coming up, but we will see. Curious what powertrain options Americans are getting with the new A4 Avant which might sway me to Audi.
