2018 XC90 AC air conditioning went. Out of warranty. How much to repair?

You'd have to get it diagnosed to know what the repair is and what a reasonable cost is. You were offered an extended warranty and said they're only for suckers right?
This $3-4k job could have paid for itself if the warranty was purchased [emoji2369].

However, I do feel for the OP. Had multiple cars well over 100k miles that never had a single issue with the AC. That includes being in this Phoenix climate. Our 2017 XC90 almost made it to 70k miles before it needed AC work. To include a new compressor and evap core. Although I think the compressor was the dealer simply throwing parts at it the first time. Because it didn't fix the problem.

It was more commentary to a new forum member who wants to join and instantly blast dealerships/Volvo. Of course it's not supposed to break. But the purpose of a warranty is to cover it when it does. Of course the aggregate is in favor of the warranty company, that's frankly why Volvo warranties are actually pretty cheap. But it's nothing new in any machine to have a few have problems early. Buy enough cars and eventually you get unlucky.
Yeah sorry, my context didn't come across totally correct. I also didn't realize it was a first time poster. Buy the platinum VIP warranty. Then you can expect Volvo to fix what's wrong after the factory warranty. Otherwise, it's a toss up of goodwill and straight refusal [emoji2369].

It’s just ridiculous people want to spout off such crass comments. I have NEVER claimed to know it all…quite the opposite is true. It’s why I do so many things, to keep learning. It’s how I’ve come to be quite knowledgeable about a variety of things, but I’m certainly no expert. Never claimed to be a master tech. Never claimed to be a tire engineer. Never claimed to be a glass specialist…but that can’t mean one doesn’t know a lot about those things. But…I’m vilified for that. It’s just pathetic, and MODERATORS do nothing. It’s why this forum has devolved into something bordering on useless.
You’ve called people stupid, or an idiot, called their comments stupid or dumb, you’ve proclaimed your dominance in any topic at hand, or due to who you know, or what connections you have, you have some upper hand knowledge. You’ve contradicted yourself on numerous occasions. You’ve sent messages to members (including me) demanding something occur or else moderators will have it fixed to “your satisfaction.” You’ve claimed people have issue with sexual orientation with zero cause. Then you immediately claim victim of whatever-ism when some of us provide basic reflection of your childish, whining behavior/attitude. [emoji848]

Sad to think this is all the more serious you can be, that you care so little about cyber bullying. But that’s what you are, sooooo…
Cyber bully calling out cyber bullying by claiming to be a victim of cyber bullying.

Pretty sad the moderators let this kind of bullying and drivel go on, isn't it?
Posting your own words to showcase your pattern of hypocritical behavior certainly won’t help your whining to moderators. I can only imagine the amount of finger pointing you’ve given the moderators behind the scenes after sending crap like this

Good thing you haven't jumped ship like you've been threating though so this place doesn't devolve into chaos.

So after 5 trips they want another 5200$ to replace my Compressor and Condenser. Currently i am at leaking hose 740$, Evaporator 3700, Leak in back near Battery Compartment (did this twice) $750, now since its still not working the Compressor and Condenser plus another 1k figuring it out. Over 10k for a an AC, WTaF ?? :( Should all 3 of those been done together or are they just throwing more parts at it to see what sticks? Either way 10k to get cool air again is crazy, i would have just traded it in
This is wild. When our former 2017 was blowing warm air, the dealer replaced the AC compressor insisting it was the problem. Blew warm air within a week and took it back. They conceded it was actually the evaporator. Both covered by extended warranty… over $4k. They seemed to be throwing parts at it. The evaporator fixed it at least.
