Hi everyone,
I've got a 2017 XC90 T6 with one set of keys and unfortunately the key fob itself has broke on me. I've replaced the battery in it multiple times in the past and despite trying 3 different batteries, the fob itself has stopped operating.
To start the car, I have to put the key in the cupholder, which is fine for now, but to my surprise when I tried to get gas yesterday, I could not get the gas tank cover to open. It remains locked with the car both on or off / with the key near or far.
I saw a video of a previous generation XC90 that has a gas cap button on the dash, but mine doesn't have that.
Is there a manual way for me to open it?
Thanks!
EDIT: Has anyone else experienced a broken plastic bit in the original key fob that holds the battery in place? I recall it being there in my previous battery replacement, but now the battery just lies in it loosely and gets stuck to the top cap when it's put back together. However, it should still lock/unlock the car when I normally hold the new battery in with my thumb correct? Just trying to diagnose if its truly a broken key fob. $400 for a new one hurts.
