I live in Canada, so I already have winter tires. Car has 50K kilometers, was told can last for this season, and suggest me to replace them next year. Volvo charges 15xx CAD for 4 tires plus 1xx for alignment, so around 2K CAD after tax.

Should I go for it next year? or shop around?

I would shop around as they will sell you 3 season tires with foam. I have been using the Michelin sport plus or the sport 4 for 8 years and consider them to be top summer rubber that sticks to road rain or shine. If you like to take the ramp just a little faster look into high performance summer. If not cheaper (all/no) seasons will do.
