2016 XC 90 Supercharger & Resonator question

My Volvo is currently in the shop for an exhaust manifold leak. The repair will be fairly costly.
The dealership has also advised the following:

RECOMMEND INTAKE SYSTEM REFRESH, RESONATORS AND ALL SEALS REPLACE WITH SUPERCHARGER REMOVED, SEALS TEND TO LEAK AND NOT SEAL, RESONATORS FULL OF OIL, RECOMMENDED WITH SUPERCHARGER ALREADY OUT, = 1358.48+TAX

Should I do this?

I was also wondering if I should also replace the whole the supercharger while it is out for an additional $1600.

Thoughts?

I would recommend replacing the resonators and supercharger seals while it is out. Not sure about that price though. Find out how much of that is labor. I can't see charging more than 1.5 or 2 hours to do it while it's already out.

As for the supercharger itself, I've only had to replace one. The good thing about doing it now is you'll get a lifetime warranty on it. So it depends how long you are going to keep the car.

thanks for the advice. It looks like 2 hours of labor plus parts. I can get it down to $1100. I probably will not keep the car one enough to spend money on a new supercharger, especially if they do not go bad that often
Mine went in today for an exhaust manifold leak. Good luck!

Does the lifetime warranty include labor if it fails in the future?

If it was bought and installed at a Volvo dealer, yes. The warranty isn't transferable though.

These are not volvo dealer prices. Volvo literally want 3x as much to do anything so there will only be a 2 yr warrenty
