I have a 2013 XC90 and I have a question.
For a while now I've been trying to find out exactly what those halogen hi beams are supposed to be doing sitting there next to my ABL headlights. I just finally went back to the manual in the "how to replace a headlamp section" and found this tiny little footnote under the graphic. It says that with ABL the halogen headlamps are not used.
Great! This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of.
Does anyone have any good suggestions as to how I can activate the deactivated halogen headlamps? Perhaps install the auxiliary lighting switch in the console and wire them to it?
Does anyone have any words of wisdom on this issue?

Shame on you Volvo.

They already function as DRL's, and by some accounts, as an additional low-beam too. BMW does this as well.

The 65W halogen bulb is the high beam. The DRLs are where the fog lamps used to be in the older models. 2013 doesn't have fog lamps.

The turn signal is not where the illustation shows though, it's in the lower right corner of the headlamp.
