In a bit of a bind...

Apparently, I ordered the wrong front brakes and pads. Turning to the brain trust here in order to make sure I am getting the right info from the dealer and don't repeat my mistakes...

2009 V8 R-Design

I ordered
30657301 for the front rotors. These are 336mm Volvo rotors. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/vo...xc90-30657301-336mm-13-1-4-genuine-30657301oe
31262705, 30769125 for the front pads. These are Akebonos that fit 336mm rotors. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-brake-pad-set-front-xc90-eur1003-336mm-rotors

The dealer is telling me I need
31400893 for the front rotors. These are the 328mm Volvo rotors. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-brake-rotor-front-xc90-31262489
31687104 for the front pads. I can't find this part number on FCP Euro, but this is the 328mm Akebono pad, so I assume this is the one? https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-brake-pad-set-front-30793943-30793944

Do the 336mm brakes really not fit my car? Happy to provide the VIN to for anyone who has a fancy machine that confirms these things.

Did you order them from FCP? Shoot them an email with your VIN — they should be able to tell you. They did for my ‘11 (although for some reason the last guy couldn’t with VIN alone for my S70).

Of course, the surest way is to pop off a wheel and measure it yourself.

Front caliper looks like:
#1- https://forums.swedespeed.com/showt...t-Brake-size&p=4747705&viewfull=1#post4747705
#2- https://photos.app.goo.gl/6shLqdAhBFKZK1GFA

* #1 is 328mm, #2 is 336mm. 336 and 316 differentiation is on another post as the caliper looks the same. Includes photo of a 328 rotor- https://forums.swedespeed.com/showthread.php?590109-Brake-Rotor-Size-(Front)

**Last 6 of VIN? If >512676, it could absolutely be 328. https://parts.volvocarslisle.com/a/Volvo__/54749104__5704986/Front-wheel-brake/GR-371459.html, has a great visual of the rotors (item 14), all in one spot. Unfortunately, the 328 dual pot caliper is not shown (just a box) but it's easy to spot once you know what to look for.

I shot FCP an email but they close at 2 on Fridays and don’t open till Monday. Sounds great as an employee. Annoying as a customer. The other annoying part is that their site said these fit. I’m hoping they’ll help me with shipping as I need the car back Thursday.

Unfortunately, car is at the stealership so I can’t eye ball it.

They really won’t fit. The 328 caliper is more compact than the 336 and you have the dual piston set up. I don’t believe the rotors will clear the brackets.

Thanks.

FCP Euro confirmed the same via email, despite the website listing them as fitting.

I’d love to have the bigger brakes. What model/year would I need to look for to source calipers? Or do I go R...
Coming from 336 to 328, the dual piston calipers actually stop better in my point of view. Keep what you got unless you want to do the 60r swap over.
