For clarification purposes;

The exterior color is Black Sapphire (metallic) not Black (non-metallic).

Well this finally sold at auction after running 4 weeks.
It needed a bunch of bodywork, small dings and dents (not dent doctors dents) everywhere. basically both sides needed to be painted
Even though it needed all this, the low miles had me interested.
They finally just sold it for about what it was worth, low 20's.

(The first two weeks he was smoking something real good, he wanted 26,500 for it!)

I guess he finally realized all he was going to get was lower 20's and finally let it go and took his loss.
I had thought about it and was bidding but was caught off guard and didn't think he would let it go for this amount and was walking away from the computer when they said sold.

I almost had it (for $400 less then what would eventually be the final sale price) but since this was a small (actually medium) project I'm not going to lose sleep over this, plus it was not near me and would have had another $300 or so in transportation to get it home

Thanks JRL, for the sales update. I don't know much about the process, though I do plan to use your services next spring for my purchase.

You noted the relatively poor exterior condition--was it disclosed on the spec sheet that auction goers see ahead of time? Seems like without an accurate description of the car, you end up wasting your time, especially when you have a potential buyer lined up who wants a cream puff and not a fixer.

I usually never buy these cars without condition reports if they're out of my area.
If anyone would have been interested in this (as with all my "buys for customers", I always email them a copy of the condition report then we go over it on the phone (or email) if I'm not able to look at the car in person.
Always full disclosure with me.

There were none of the usual line bidders with this one, there was too much stuff needed to do for them to take a flyer on it!

Well, I guess it's even worse than I thought.
The buyer from last week brought it now down here (Manheim, PA) for tomorrow's auction!

Maybe it was always his intention to bring it down here, thinking that the many desparate Volvo R buyers that don't know sh*t

would buy it!

I don't know any Volvo dealer that would touch it, (too much work to do)!
