I'm preparing to replace OEM Pirelli Scorpion STR tires with Pirelli P4 Four Seasons. The tires Speed Rating / Service Description are 98V (STR) and 98T or 96T (P4). The car is driven 99.9% on road/highway. Anyone have any experience with the P4 tire or other recommendation for XC70 replacement tire?

I have just put Pirelli P4's on my Volvo V70 XC and I find that they are extremely noisy. However, the ride and handling is acceptable. Nevertheless, the noisyness is annoying and I am considering taking them back.

I just put a set of Firestone Firehawk Gt's on mine and I love them! Very Cheap, but very little road noise, loads of tread, and plenty of grip. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone! Plus I only paid $79 bucks a tire, and they came with a 50,000 mile warranty!
