Well, I was looking for a 2006 V70 with DSTC and I'm told they hardly exist (why is this?). So now I'm looking at a 2007. Can anyone tell me the differences between the 2006 and 2007 (other than DSTC being standard which is a good thing). Any other options/standards I should know about since I can't easily see an '07 yet? What about price differences or incentives?
Thanks.

Here are changes for the 2007 XC70:
. Dynamic Stability Traction Control (DSTC), standard on all MY07 XC70
. Tire Pressure Monitoring System, standard on all MY07 XC70
. New exterior side mirror with 3 flash turn indicator (similar to S40/V50)
Packages/Options:
. Watchdial Instruments, Auto Dim & Compass In Rear View Mirror, and Park Assist Rear added to Convenience Package
. 17" Oreander Wheels added as Stand Alone Options
. 40/20/40 Split Folding Rear Seat has been deleted as Stand Alone Option
William

I had the same issue. As I understand it, DSTC will be standard on all MY07 Volvo models.
There were only a handful of XC70s with DSTC on the lots around Boston, which is a popular XC area, so I estimate that less than 5% of MY06 cars came with it. Naturally, the sales guys told me that DSTC is unnecessary. One week later, the NY Times called DSTC the best safety innovation since the invention of the airbag. By that time, I had already ordered an 07 via the OSD program and will pick it up in Gothenburg soon. Can't wait!
ellita

One dealer salesman trying to sell me an '06 with just STC tried to tell me that with DSTC "you will lose control of the car when DSTC takes over" and therefore it was really not that good. I was floored! Needless to say, he lost all chance of us buying any car from him.

DSTC is worth the wait for 07 or an extended search. Don't forget about the OSD program.... William will be happy to fill you in.
http://www.flyvolvo.com - you order EXACTLY what you want.

Got my 2006 V70 with Nav, DSTC, Man Tranny, and 3rd Row (yes, it's a couple hundred cheaper, and yes, you lose the $300? cargo cover), among others. But it was special order through the mil program. Dealer I picked it up at said he couldn't remember the last manual (non-R) V70 he'd seen.
