Re: 2006 Calendar (L Cordner)

Great to see the Davis show and swap on May 21st. One little detail.... IPD's show and swap is on May 20th. Think we might be short 10+ cars if they attend in Portland and don't want to drive all night to get to Davis.
As for me, I'm going to the IPD show in Portland AND the Davis show!
Anyone else looking to pull off a 1500 mile 3 day weekend? I'm looking for other cars and other people wanting to go to both. I figure the more people, the less chance we have of a car being driven by a sleepy driver.

Re: 2006 Calendar (badvlvo)

I'm aware of the conflict and have talked to IPD about it as well as our Portland chapter. There are a bunch of guys doing both, hopefully with regard to the harmful effects of sleep deprivation and respect for speed limits.
I know that weekend in May is alway's IPD's garage sale, but it was the only time I could get the track at Thunderhill. The facility is getting more and more popular and even though we are old customers, it is a jump ball.
I know the IPD garage sale is a big event, as is the car show at Davis. Last year we had over 150 cars in place by 11:00 AM and shut the gate because we were out of room. There were Volvos parked all over town with people wandering in. Our last track day at Thunderhill in December sold out in two weeks. I expect the next one will be the same.
It is a great problem to have, actually... so many Volvo events that we have these kind of conflicts. Some places, conflicts are not the problem.
Lee
