Hi,
I've looked up this questions all over the internet as well as surfed past posts but couldn't find the answer, so please accept my apologies if this is a "duh!" question:
For 2004 & 2005 the 5-speed automatic transmission required that the engine reduce maximum torque from 295 lb-ft to 256 lb-ft (as compared to the stick).
With the switch to the 6-speed automatic, is this still the case, or is the 6 speed geartronic able to fully take the 295 lb-ft of torque?
Of course, this affects whether I buy new or used!
thanks!
Jason
1993 940 Turbo Wagon
1992 240DL <- Sold

Re: 2006 / 2007 V70R Geartronic Question (jhleung)

Of course if you ask this in the R FORUM, you may get some answers
However, I'll answer anyway as I'm in a decent mood.
The 06's are SUPPPOSED to not be limited in 1st but we suspect they are a LITTLE as the 0 to 60 is still a bit slower than the 6 speed manual
(It shouldn't be)
All you have to do if you buy an 04 or an 05 is to get the stage 2 IPD upgrade with the limiter removed.
I've never driven one, but those who have say it's VERY quick.
Again, ask on the R board
