Look over your VIP warranty contract to see exactly what it doesn't cover. Check those out under factory warranty.

Take it to your dealer and ask for a bumper to bumper check, while hitting the highlights exclusively, i.e. angle gear. Before doing this, read through the TNN lists here on SS and see if you can pinpoint anything that should be done/checked. If so, print the TNN and bring it with you for the dealer.

I had only had the car a week. Since then, I've purchased their maintenance plan (bad decision), I've had a few things fixed on my R and we purchased our XC90 Sport, so I think we are on better terms now.

JRL
Do you have a PDF or know where i can go to locate some information on VIP. I talked to the service advisor at the volvo dealership here in town and they said when I am 90 days out form my warranty expiring then to bringthe R in and have it looked over bumper to bumper to recieve a quote!
As for leather i keep hearing mixed cases. The same advisor said they will do it one time under warranty.( my side bolster is starting to show some advance wearing) I remember reading up here that some got it done with no issues and some dealers said gtfo....
Is the Service advisor and dealership the authority for this type of service to be replaced underwarranty at no expense to the customer?
I ran into my buddy who just got a 2006 Acura TL( still under warranty). He noticed some things that were wrong with it, especially the wearing of drivers side seat.. they just replaced the whole seat, no questioned asked.....he was like "volvo probabaly would do the same thing right" I didnt comment..

If the warranty isn't pricey enough, the surcharge is.
