Dear Volvo'ers,

My Volvo sound has changed lately to a bit heavy. Upon my inspection underneath, I found some leaks on rear silencer block as shown by arrows in the attached photo.

Is it possible to replace (and weld) the damaged one with this after market unit?

All I need is just a suggestion if after market part shall work. There are several sizes available which one shall I choose?

Thanks in advance

No reason the aftermarket shouldn't work if it has the same inlet and outlets. Might sound a little different depending on which muffler you go for. Any decent exhaust place should be able to help you no worries.

The problem is, it's a side input. Bring it to a muffler shop and see what they say. You might have to lose the spare to do a traditional rear input exhaust. I've seen an aftermarket muffler on eBay for like 135 bucks for the xc90 but I can't comment on the quality or fitment. But it is a side input.

I just looked it up.

I don't know anything about it though.
