I have a beloved 2004 XC70 I was able to wrestle away from my ex-wife.
However, I was just informed by my mechanic that it needs new front end struts and recommended replacement with "quick struts" at the tune of $1500 with wheel alignment.
All things considered I don't feel it is worth dumping that amount of cash into just the suspension. I found ProParts quick struts on eEuroparts for $220 each and SenSen speed struts on CarID for $140 each..with the intention of doing the work myself.
Has anyone ever had any experience with quick/speed struts? If so, does anyone have recommendations for either brand, ProParts or SenSen?

I don't think there are quick struts for the XC. I looked briefly and found only ones for the regular V70/S60... Other than the ebay quick struts, I can't think of any great OEM brands. Some people have had luck with those ebay kits for 300 for a set of quick struts, but I'm sure there are quality differences. I decided to get the OEM/Sachs struts, HD bushings for the front uppers, lift springs, and new bushings for the rear struts. All in all, it's probably 1200-1300 for a lifted XC70... just sayin' ;)

Why not Original Volvo?

ProPartsSweden is the same as ScanTech from what I understand. Their parts are generally lower quality.

In this case, Original Volvo is the way to go:
- Sachs struts, $240: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-strut-kit-front-2-piece-v70-xc70-kit-p2xcstrtkt2p2
- XC90 spring seats, $68: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-suspension-strut-mount-spring-seat-xc90-30683637oe
- Strut mount/bearings, $136: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-suspension-strut-mount-front-upper-30714968

Total is $444 for OE quality parts.
