Re: FS: Rare 2004 V70R 6-SPD Manual (jeffrocha)

$31k .....I saw a nice 04 Red/Atacama on Autotrader for $26ish. To bad it was a GT, I would have seriously considered the color combo with a 6 speed.
Jim

That's well below KBB unless it had very high miles. I would imagine that it went very quickly.
I was able to post some pictures over at V70R.com if anyone would like to see the car. I took them 2 days ago...
Jeff

Re: (iibbmm)

They actually do - or at least they should when it's an R (IMHO). Volvo imported 4,000 S60R/V70R combined in 2004. And most of the V70Rs are automatics (what a shame). If you try to buy one off of a dealer you'll find that they feel that KBB is about right (or it's within about a grand of what they want). Occasionally you'll see someone giving one away... It's certainly a question of finding the right buyer... but if someone wants an R, they are mighty tough to find. You could always buy my car new for about $45K...
Good luck with the T5.

Re: (JRL)

"If I could sell every car I owned at KBB retail......"Not fearing a lack of consistency certainly must be liberating, J.O.
The real world price in a particular place at a particular time is going to be that spot on the continuum where the least amount the seller will accept intersects with the absolute most a buyer is willing to pay.KBB, NADA , Black Book, Edmunds and others claim to use averages and, if that is true, with each additional transaction they factor in the validity of thier claimed value should go up. In example checking full high retail from a high overhead dealership for a low mileage 2000 R-AWD KBB says $17,505 and shows a trade in value of $10,255. Quite a spread. Edmunds show the spread for private party transactions on the same car to be a more reasonable $10,218 to a top retail of $13,694. If we assume someone bought one at each of those prices and divided by the number of transactions we would average just under $13,000 for the car, probably a fair price. That said, I find the private party retail on my 1998 R-AWD to be less than I would sell it for unless there was some lusty replacement heavily tempting me away, like this beautiful R-AWD with its unique understated Blue and Black interior and stick shift (and how many comparables would there be for the pricing guides to use to compile their data in this combination and condition unlike my silver/charcoal automatic?)......I am glad its not black. It would be awfully hard to pass up.........Beautiful car.
Jeff, good luck with the sale.
