Tail lights are masked (along with alot on the car)....They can't get this to the market fast enough. Looks real good. Are you going to photoshop the back view?

A contact at Volvo tells me that the sedan will be much less upright than this. Perhaps the 50 is more upright because they have plans for XC models as well.

If it were less upright, then it would be interesting. Right now it looks like a minibus wannabe.
"The John Stewart Show", huh? Wow...so you guys finally took the plunge! That's three of ex-....from us...you guys better get it right this time! well, you know where I am getting at....Hopefully, it will work out for him. He is a nice guy!

Yannis

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that those computer generated pics (all but the littlest one to the bottom left of the top pic) are heavily modified via photoshop. With that in mind, they have used many portions of those tweaked pics from existing Audi A4 photos. I'm almost inclined to say that the images are an Audi, until I can clearly see on that top one, that it's an undisguised Volvo test car with decent amount of obviousness.
Still, those computer generated ones are far from what I think the actual one will look like.
The easiest place to see this is the headlight cluster on the larger car in the top picture. That is straight Audi A4...not even disguised. Note too how the grill sets over the bumper to a small degree. That whole hood is a modified A4 image. The basic shape is that spy photo in the lower corner, but there's so much Audi and artists interpretation in it, I'd rather look at the little one.

I agree, those headlights are directly from the new Audi A4, but that little picture at the very top in the bottom left corner is the real deal IMHO. That little picture looks a lot better than the large one that was Photoshop edited. It is a lot more sleek looking in reality. The rest of the car looks great though.
Well, not to worry gang, this monstrosity below is supposed to be the new BMW X3, competition for the XC50. Ugh!

-Drew
[This message has been edited by InDy (edited 01-29-2002).]

That's pretty darn ugly. I'm curious to see just how good these new Focus-based cars are. I rented a Focus recently, and it handles well, but it is pretty chintzy.
If what they say is true though, and the I5 motors will fit, well that'd sure make the 40/50 a screamer.

The Protege is a luxury car by comparison. The best thing about the Focus is its chassis and great manual transmission/clutch combination. Hopefully, this will bode well for the next S40/V50.
-Drew
