<B>2003 Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VIII</B><P>These pictures are not official. They were taken, highly "undercover", at a Mitsubishi dealers convention in Las Vegas, at the Bellagio Palace.<P>The EVO VIII is the one that will be coming to the United States, supposedly with 250hp, AWD, Brembo brakes, Recaro seats(front & back), 5-speed manual, and 17-inch OZ wheels. The silver car you can see in the background is the new Mistubishi Galant. From the first picture, you can clearly see the bumper is different than the one in Euro/Asia market, I guess this is how the car looks when it arrives at our shore. <P>The next Galant, it's fugly, I think Mitsubishi tried to be futuristic but at the end they got themselves a piece of **** tard.

Then again the current Galant isn't exactly a top seller here anyway.<P>New EVO looks like a sweet car. Should have a 6th gear though, it's got an aggressive final drive (possibly a 5th gear that's not an overdrive?) and 5th gear hits the redline at 112mph. The car will be an excellent rally car and corner carver, but it won't be a star at any street races. A few engine mods and it will be hitting its top speed before the end of the 1/4 mile <IMG SRC="http://www.swedespeed.com/ubb/eek.gif"><P>

I have too agree, that isn't the Evo. Definately the eclipse, especially in the non-rigid convertable form. The front of the car has lost its functional air passage ways and looks generally less agressive. Definatley an eclipse spyder and an Evo VII side by side. <P>
