Not enough wing area to be an adept 'aviator.' Plus there are one-too-many wheels and the empennage is a tad too small (if you can find it, that is.)
Plus, the avionics stack seems to be a tad lacking, I doubt if this is the IFR version.
Does the gear retract? That might help cruise speed a bit.

Even though the dealers share space, Lincoln and Mercury are two separate brands. The theory was that a Lincoln version of the Explorer spelled doom for Mercury as that'd put the Explorer in L/M dealers and that's one of the few well selling Mercs left.
Recent news points otherwise. Looks like Merc will be around for a while.

they didn't have a lincon version of the explorer... just the merc, which was the mountainer. This is "completely new". I like it... well... sorta... I think the wheel is utterly gross, which to me is one of the most important parts of the cabin, but apart from that, I like the interior. As for the exterior, the headlights look identical to the Grand Charokee. And yet it still seems to look like a jimmy from the front... don't know why... might be the shape..? I don't think I'd buy one... I think there is much better to be had.

My only prob with the new Expedition and now the new Aviator is that they look way too much like their brand bretheren. It's hard to tell the difference in pics from an Expedition and an Explorer and it's the same way between the Navigator and the Aviator.

Though I agree with george and think its stupid... I think thats the idea... they like having all of their cars look alike so when you see it, there is no mistake that is a lincon (or whatever). I think they need to have a minor thing that they keep in common between models... not the whole frigg'n thing!
