Trying to use a FWD V6 to compete with the Lexus LS, BMW 7-series, and Mercedes S-class?
Give me a break.

The Acura 3.5RL is a great car on its own merits, but when you compare it to the LS430 & Q45 is it missing key essential's like RWD, a V8 engine, and the high technology factor. Honda has already stated that they are not interested in producing a V8 RWD car so expect the next RL to be some sort of hybrid FWD/AWD with a high-output 3.5 liter V6.
-Drew

They'll never learn. My friend used to be a salesman at an Acura dealer, he always said that Honda had their $hit together with suspensions (the cars handled rather well), but he also said "It's a hard job convincing people that Honda engines are powerful"

I miss the last generation Legend, especially the coupe. That was a much more attractive car, in my opinion.
With most of the full size luxury imports being RWD these days, perhaps there is a niche to fill with a large FWD sedan. There are a lot of people out there who distrust rear wheel drive because they believe it is not as safe and secure as front wheel drive.

How does it compete with those cars? The Lexus is 55k, the others are 70k plus, how does the 35k Acura compete with these cars?
I don't personally like FWD, but it's a nice car nonetheless and it should be a low maintainance car. I think I am beginning to like asain luxary cars.
