There's a technical sergeant that works in my clinic that keeps on saying he's gonna whop my T5 in a race when I finally get it. It's a on going verbal battle... Im getting to a point where I just wanna punch him in the face cause its getting a little annoying, but the Air Force doesn't doesn't allow that so much.
Post your comments so I can give him this link. His car is stock.

http://www.audiworld.com/featu...shtml
http://www.volvocars.com/us/mo....aspx
CAN I TAKE HIM?
Modified by USAF 2010 T5 at 12:30 PM 6-26-2009

The S40 is a smaller car with more HP ... you should win, if you can get the power down.
http://www.einszweidrei.de/, doesn't have the A6 3.0, but the A4 3.0 is slower than the S40 ...

Re: 2002 Audi A6 3.0 vs 2010 S40 T5 (USAF 2010 T5)

Speaking from personal experience with Audi, he will get stomped. O-60 is 7.5 sec, and a 1/4 mile hits at 15.5 seconds @ 92.0 mph
I love Audi, trust me but its a lost battle for the 3.0L. It is one of the more doggie motors for the A6. The 2.7T motor is the same one as the S4 I had. Now that motor had a fair amount of potential!!!
Todd

yo stomp him! OK yea HP and Torque are the same but his is heavier because its bigger and the quattro makes it even heavier. My friends 1.8t A4 wasnt poop until he got the HP around 270/280 because it was so damn slow with quattro. Now if he had a 2.7 with a chip youd be done.....represent

No need to post HP, weight, or any other specs.
The S40 is a quicker car - by FAR. I had an A6 2.8 - nearly the same performance specs as the 3.0. Acceleration is slow on these -- he will, however, have an advantage at high speeds.

I believe you should be able to prove him wrong... easily. Given the fact that your car is lighter and smaller, along with similar horsepower & slightly more torque. This means you have better power & torque-to-weight figures (ie. more hp & torque per lb).
Here's another link to a write-up of the 2002 A6 3.0... it states the 0-60mph time as 7.9 seconds. Compare that to the S40 T5...
http://www.edmunds.com/insidel...46871
Also, another link to the international technical specifications with 0-60mph (it's stated as 0-100km/h) timings of the S40 T5.
http://www.volvocars.com/intl/....aspx

You don't want to blow and seals or gaskets on a brand new car.

Re: (cicatrizdare)

I thought the s40 was broken in from the the factory? That's what it says in the manual for the topic of break-in if I remember correctly.

There is one way to be sure. Order a tune now and install it when you get the car.
Re: (skwirl)

Most cars get have a 'preload' period or whatever you wanna call it, which is technically breaking it in at the factory.
BUT, the general idea is to not get the car with under 10 miles and rip through every gear right away.
My break-in process is nothing over 4k for the first 400-500 miles, then up to 1000 miles after that give it the range of revs. So...slowly bring it into full rev as you progress up to 1000 miles.
When I say drop the hammer at 4k I mean a 4,000 rpm launch.
From what i've read, babying it up to 1000 miles like some say to do will do it no good, because the seals/rings/etc need to set with appropriate conditions. You're not going to baby the car its whole life so babying it in the beginning won't do anything to help it..but you still want to treat it nicely for the first 1000 miles and not completely beat the sh1t out of it.
