Please bear with me - I replaced the alternator and a couple of the turbo control hoses. After re-connecting the battery, the car ran great but the turbo would not spool up or spooled up weakly. The car threw a 1238 code. So I double checked my work - I had to R&R the crossover pipe to intercooler hose, and that was on tight. I checked the 2 hoses for the turbo control valve that I replaced - the one to "fresh air inlet" on the large plastic hose from air cleaner to turbo, and the one to the wastegate, they are on solid. I replaced the "red"hose - turbo housing to control valve, but no go. I replaced the valve itself - nope. I checked to purge vale on the fan housing, too, and that did not help. Car starts great from cold, idles smooth and nice acceleration for a non T car. The only thing I wonder is, maybe I pushed or wiggled too hard on the fresh air inlet nipple? Isn't the mount for the inlet pipe supposed to be a little flexible?
Plus, if I disconnect the MAF, the car dies.
I looked at my work again to make sure I didn't miss something and all looks spot on.. But I know I'm missing something - ideas? Anybody in the Winston Salem, NC area I can talk with?
Thanks in advance
