2004 v70 awd, need booster, third row, and hitch

I am new to the forum and am looking at two used wagons.

A 2001 v70 2.4t with 97,000 miles $5450

or
A 2004 v70 awd 2.5t with 111,000 miles $7500.

Which is the better deal? THe 2001 seems to shift fine and runs well. I havent driven the 2004, but it should be just as quick.

I dont want to buy a problem car, either in the 01 because of the trans, or the 04 because of the awd.

I am also looking to retrofit the car with booster seats if anyone wants to trade.

I just talked to a mechanic that checked out the 2001 in red bank nj, he told me to avoid the 01.

So, i am looking for a black booster seat back seat to swap with my non booster seat back seat. What is involved in the swap?

What is involved in adding a third row?

they had a green 02, but i dont like the color. An 05 2.5t just came in, but it didnt have a price.

I checked with the volvo clinic about the 01, the owner had bought it there for a check.

Hi

While l was happy using Red Bank Volvo while l was under the orig warranty and then the extended warranty l noticed that they tried to push repairs a little too much not to mention the high prices.

The best independent Volvo shop is in Freehold, NJ on route 33. Their mechanic's are top notch and have been around for over 25yrs that l know and only use Volvo parts and they are a lot cheaper.

Probably good advice overall. The AWD system in the V70 AWD won't see the same stresses as the R, which is where most of the reports of failures are coming from, but the '01 trannys fail regardless of engine.

It's very easy. Pull on the red tabs on the front of the seats to unlock them, then they lift up and out. Reverse the process to install the new seat bottoms.

Not impossible, but significantly more involved. Besides installing the seats, you have to add the seatbelt harnesses and interior latch for the rear hatch.

Is 7500 a fair price for a 04 awd with 111,000 miles?

i can get an 02 with 88,000 for 7900, but the trans might be questionable on an 02
