This is the second time my 2001 (8/2001 build date) has not started. Nothing happens when your turn the key, no engine crank etc. The lights all go on, everything works, but no start. Earlier in the day while driving I heard a lot of noise coming from the drivers side of the car. It was like air coming out of a hose kinda noise. It was quite loud at times. Also, yesterday when starting the car the engine was sputtering a bit as soon as I started it. What is going on?? Last time this happened dealer said nothing was wrong. Well, it still doesn't start hours later. Damn!

Does your check engine light come on? If the engine is sputtering at low rpm's I'd most definaltely take it to another dealer than the one you've been going too. Those guys dont know whats up, because something is obviously wrong.

Have you checked if your battery isn't dead? or if your starter isn't burt out? also... have you checked if you key isn't worn out? try a different key.

worn key? wth!?!? LoL maybe if humans had strong enough teeth to chew on a key? At the same time our keys are laser cut, so that could have something to do w/ it as well?

If I keep the key turned all the way to II (the position before starting) the Check Engine light does stay on as well as the red triangle. Nothing in the info center though. I've tried a different key, no good. I've also noticed a a slight scraping/rattling noise from the engine when driving slowly or idiling.

Should I even have it towed to the dealer? I'm leaving for Egypt on Wednesday for two weeks.

Well, I went outside and the S60 decided to start! I'll call a dealership tomorrow to see what they think.

Car won't start again. Left me stranded! Had it towed to dealer. Will update!
