a friend owns a volvo only shop in berkeley cal. i was in visiting one day when a woman came in with a similar problem that no one found a solution to. his techs and i spent severl hours investigating when one guy found that the glove box door was mal adjusted and allowed the glove box light on. i drained a weak battery overnight, and took a few days to drain a new one.
just a thought. it was hard to tell because when you opened the box the light was on. but the tech noticed the door ajar and a very little light showing.
good luck, check all your lights and the battery/alternator connections.
I checked the glove box yesterday and noticed just before the glove box closed the light would go out. I also took the negative cable off the battery and put a jumper light between the cable and the battery. The light was on and I pulled every fuse one at a time I could find and the jumper light stayed on. Looks like I have no other choice but to take It to Volvo. The battery is new ( one day old )
