I'll go first, and save you the trouble. Before the other guys start picking on you.
It will be cheaper to just sell it and buy a 2.4T. You'll save yourself the headaches, and money by going this route.

Easiest solution: add a 2.4T label to the trunklid

Re: (Paysts)

If I were you I would try contacting Volvo Motorsports if you absolutely have to turbo your car. I would try calling and talking to them to find the best route and I'm sure they either point you in the right direction or provide you with the parts that you're looking for. Just beware that when you boost and motor that was intended for NA use, you're going to start having problems i.e. bent rods, blowing holes through your piston, piston rings failing, and I'm sure the list goes on. You could always try to find a wrecked T5 M and swap the engine but that might be a little hard to find. Good Luck
http://www.volvomotorsports.com/catalog/

Well, it has been done, but it's a major sex change surgery if done correctly so that it actually runs and is reliable. You need to swap the engine, wiring harness and every single computer in the car (and there are many) from a donor car (smashed 2.4T or T5).
I don't think the 2.4T was ever paired to a manual transmission, so you'd in essence be performing an engine *and* transmission swap. Trust the folks here when they say it's not worth the hassle.
If you really want to subject yourself to the pain, suffering, and expense, forget about the 2.4T and seek out an early T5 (2.3L high pressure turbo)/MT drivetrain instead.

I forgot the 2.4T is AT only. T5 engine+MT swap would not require a tune, "just" the computers from a T5 like racerken did.

For the most part, I don't notice a whole lot of difference. Only major thing I know for sure (and which bothers me) is that it sits at 300~400 RPM higher on the highway at a comparable speed to the M56LK. (Also, I think it might not pull to as high of a speed in 2nd gear on the rare occasion I feel like pushing it.)
And the is just 'cause it's not the "right" (stock) tranny for this model...
