Ill be trying to sell my 2000 XC mid-June. It is a great car and will be very sad to see it go, but I just cant afford the maintenance on it anymore(college will suck every last penny out of me). Ill be buying something like a cheap Toyota or VW just to keep me moving until I can afford something better. But onto the XC:
It is a 2000, 197K.
I am the second owner, I purchased it at 187K.
I bought it out of New Hampshire, the previous owners took care of it, all highway miles. It was a trade-in towards a new Volvo.
The exterior is in EXCELLENT condition, one chip that has been touched up on the corner of the hood(smaller than a dime), one ding in the lower drivers door, one ding in the decal of the tailgate.
The interior is in great shape, the one thing worth mentioning is that the drivers seat leather is showing some normal wear and tear. The rest of the interior is in great shape, the back seat looks like its never been sat in.
Mechanically the car is great, a few things worth mentioning:
Needs an ABS module-$125-150?
Rear main seal just started to leak, leaks Transmission fluid very slightly-$300-400.
Needs a drivers door window switch, front windows work fine, back windows go down but not up from the drivers door.
Work I have done in the past 10K-New battery, new drivers front wheel hub, oil changes every 3K, undercoating in the rear wheel wells, one turbo hose w/ new turbo hose clamps all around, bevel gear seal, and a tailgate cover repair kit. All the work that has been done on the car has been done by my future father-in-law, a Volvo tech.
I have described everything that I find faulty on the car, I am a picky guy when it comes to my car, and everything that I listed is what drives me crazy about the car. I would like to get what I have into the car($3,855) but I know that can be a little unrealistic with the few things it needs and the miles. I would be willing to take a hit on it, as well as put the work into it and sell it for full price( I would still loose money, but whoever buys it would have a turn-key car).

Bad ABS and a leaking main seal are some big red flags. I would have to guess that it would be $$ worthwhile to fix the known problems, especially if you have free professional labor available.
Although it is a nice looking car, especially considering the high miles.

Re: 2000 V70 XC Feeler (JPMCT)

Replaced ABS unit, replaced window switch, willing to work out a deal for the Rear Main Seal. Still asking for $3850 OBO. High miles but cleaner and better running than most cars with 100k!
