I finally got home from college and had access to these pictures from my dad's camera. Short version of the story is that I was crossing a wide on-ramp intersection on the Long Island Expressway where a Nissan SUV sped across the bridge right in front of me. This was over a year ago. I'm not sure how serious this accident was (I was going ~20, him 40+) but all I know is that my passenger and I walked away, & is the reason why my next car is going to be another S80. I am picking up a 2001 2.9 (unfortunately no T6) on Tuesday.

glad to hear everyone was ok. I really wish people aound here would stop bashing the 2.9! Sure it's not going to win a drag race against many similarly priced cars, but there are many more important things that is does way better than any car in it's class; it will drive him around in comfort, a fait amount of luxury, but most importantly, God forbid he be in another accident, he can rest assured that the outcome will be ok. And it still has perfectly adequate acceleration. If it means having a 2.9 vs. a T6 just to stay in an S80 than i would tell anyone to do it, and yes i have driven a T6 on several occasions. ----by the way do you have any more pics, maybe one of the interior?

Re: (iggy637)

Thanks all, the only injuries I suffered was a ringing in my ears and a slightly achy chest.
Unfortunately, I have no pics of the interior post-accident. The two front bags went off as well as my driver's side for some reason (my ear was ringing for about a day or two from that one...). The passenger bag tore right through the ($4,500 replacement, I was told) dash, being a major contributing factor for the totaling of the car.. The only other interior damage was a lot of smoke and the seatbelt trim pieces where the belts retract into the B-pillars popped out for some reason. Something else that I thought was odd was that the rear-sunshade detached from the rear deck and flew straight towards the front of the car, hitting the backs of the headrests.
As for not getting another T6, I need a car for the summer, and this was the only S80 near me in my price range without traveling into the Bronx to look at the Federal Auto Auction. I think I'll be fine without the turbos, if I want to go fast I have my mother's car
