My fiancee is after me to get rid of my Coupe, claiming it's impractical for kids, so I'm probably looking at buying a 4-door something.
So I went to look at Jag dealer the other day, and he offered me $5,500 for my 2000 LT coupe with 71,000 miles!!! I know, trading in a car is NOT the way to go, but I'm not sure I have the time for all the tire kickers. But there is NO way I am going to take $5,500 for it!
It's an LT coupe, automatic, 17" Canistos, spoiler, SC-901 with 10 speaker/Pro Logic system, moonroof, etc. What should I expect to get from a dealer (non-Volvo) as a fair trade in price? I'm in central NJ, about 30 miles outside of NYC.
Thanks!
Gordon
PS BTW, if anyone is interested in it, just email me at slackjawed1 at hotmail.com and I would be happy to give you more details, pics, etc.
For your area, Edmond's lists it as the following:
Trade-in $11,300
Private sale $13,000
Dealer Sale $14,755
Ceritified Used Sale (Dealer) $16,824
Hope this helps you know what to ask for it. They don't give any extra's for the upgrades you've done and typically they won't bring you much anywhere unless you just happen to find a Volvo enthusiast.
BTW, Screw Jag.

Re: (MadeInJapan)

Thanks MadeInJapan. I looked at Kelly Blue Book, Edmunds and NADA for this and several other cars I have traded in. The problem is that dealers will tell you those are not "industry" values and the "true" value is much lower. You can't win with these guys!
That said, I'm going to hold out for something decent for a trade-in price, unless I can sell privately...............

BenES don't be an imbecile please, you lack the intelligence to make such comments. I don't know why you want to constantly act like a retard.
And as you don't seem to know the basics, this is not just a USA board. Get it?
Furthermore, if theres only LPT and HPT then that still means it can be either 2.0T, 2.4T or T5. Were you born an idiot?

Re: (Token)

A 2.0 LPT in the US is like a 2003 Coupé... it DOESN'T exist!
In some countries you also had the 2.0 HPT or an 2.4 without Turbo...
Be sure before you say something.

Re: (Token)

If you register now a 10 year old car it doesn't make it a MY 06 car (as you can see you have the old style rearlights, MY'03 have clear rearlights, but they only come in conv. ). I'm not going to start this discussion again, It was said enough and by a lot of different people, but there you suddently didn't react anymore after you were very insulting at the begining too.

Re: (BenES)

My car is a 2.4L 5-cylinder turbo, also known as "LT" or "LPT" or "Low/Light Pressure Turbo". I believe it produces 190HP and 199 LB-FT of torque.
I will definitely sell it privately, so if anyone has a friend that is interested, please let me know at slackjawed1 at homtmail.com
Thanks!

The 2.5T is the 2.4T, it was just renamed.
I think the 2.5 170bhp was renamed the 2.4 NA.
By the way, thats not my car in the pic but it is a MY2003 C70 Coupe, ordered in 2003 and delivered after March 2003. It doesnt matter about how the lights look
I done with this. Thanks for letting me know what engine you have slackjawed.

Re: 2000 C70 Coupe LT - Thinking of Selling......What's a Fair Price? (slackjawed)

Well, they are off, but not by as much as you might think.
According to Manhiem, w/ 70+k miles they are going thru between $7-8000.

Re: 2000 C70 Coupe LT - Thinking of Selling......What's a Fair Price? (VolvoMax)

Thanks, VolvoMax. Stopped by a BMW dealer today and they quoted me $6,500 which still seems low, but I guess not far off. They actually mentioned the Manheim guide, although I never heard of it.
I still believe there is someone out there searching for a clean C70 LT coupe!

What about Volvospeed for sale section. Some big C70 fans there and you might find an enthusiast that loves your car and what you've done to it- willing to pay the little extra!

Re: (MadeInJapan)

Those are both great points. I will certainly list it at Volvospeed and maybe even try AutoTrader.
I've put quite a bit of money into the car in the last 12 months so I hate to basically have it stolen by a dealer!
