Re: 20 inch rim question (MJRM2384)

The wheels will fit just fine.
HOWEVER!
It will look like a truck.
You'll need to do some serious lowering in order to make it look nice. For example, here's one on 20's with a slight drop.

I made this photoshop a few weeks ago with 20" Heico Volutions. It's very quick but to scale. The drop is what you'd get with KW coilovers, about $1800, but one of the best suspensions none the less.

See here for a gallery of the VOLUTION's on the car...http://www.heicosportiv.de/mai...1=356
We make a special offset now for C70, if anyone is interested in this fitment. We also offer 18's and 19's.
Thanks.
Re: 20 inch rim question ([email protected] SPORTIV NA)

I like the stance of the the second picture better but I dont have the $1800 to spend right now. Are their any Coilovers that provide a 2inch drop for around 800? Was the first picture about a 1.4inch drop? thanks again

Surely these wheels would rub like crazy ?!
The turning circle on a c70 is ridiculous anyway, surely adding those sort of sized wheels would just worsen that ?
Azza

Wait do i need new coilovers?... or can I get by with lowering springs and new shocks? Prolly sound like an idiot but my knowledge about suspension upgrades is weak. I dont really have $1000 for the coilovers and I found some lowering springs for $300

Re: (MJRM2384)

Springs are fine. They will lower the car for sure, much lower than stock. If you want to go even lower than springs, then you'd have to get the coilovers.

After a delayed response from S.A.M. and a randomly cancelled order through autocarparts.com. I just went the easy route and ordered the springs from ipd. Is there anyway I can have them cut to increase the drop? thanks again guys your help has been huge!

IPD springs are good. They'll give you one of the lowest drops. You should install them on the car with the wheels, then decide if you like them or not.

thanks Guys
with lowering springs and future plans for Koni shocks I have been looking into purchasing a strut brace. IPD has 2 different styles- one is 149 and the one is a truss style for 189- any significant difference? Michigan roads are horrible so I'm trying to get everything ready before installing the wheels.

Re: (JRL)

Yup I bought the wheels knowing eventually they would get messed up from a pot hole. I got the set of wheels and tires for 600 so im not that worried about it... my main goal is to make a few suspension changes that will help take some of the pain off the wheels - and if possible maintain a somewhat smooth ride.
so far IPD springs and koni shocks Im Hoping to have all suspension work done at one time. Anything else I might need first?

wrt cutting... half coil off the top front can be done - like mine. no problems whatsoever. rears can be cut liberally, but I don't think you'll want to when you see the gap difference from front to rear.
